On September 26, 2009, Typhoon Ondoy brought a month’s worth of rainfall to Metro Manila and nearby areas in just a few hours, causing severe flooding which resulted in the loss of many lives and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people. 8 days later, Typhoon Pepeng struck the northern regions causing more damage.

We here in the States wanted to help, but what could a group of college students do? We at FISDU figured that our annual charity coffeehouse could be the answer!

So, to raise awareness and to collect funds, we’ll be having a really chill night of music. Helping us raise money for the cause is an epic lineup of awesome performers.

This is going to be an amazing night. So if you’re in the Philadelphia area and you want to hear good music, spoken word, and dance crews ALL for a good cause, you should come out. We’re donating all proceeds to typhoon victims in the Philippines.

But helping out shouldn’t stop there. As everyone knows, Haiti just got hit by an earthquake and we should make the efforts to help out there. You can donate on tumblr by clicking the ribbon on your dashboard or you can probably find local places that are donating clothes, money, etc.

Get out there. We’re all the same people, and they’re in trouble and we can help.
